Local author Sheila Preston Fitzgerald recently released her autobiography, “One Foot in Heaven: Finding Hope in the Hopeless,” to a standing-room-only book premiere event at Salon Capelli in Cool Springs.
Guests enjoyed samplings of Haven Court wines and tasty appetizers and listened to live vocal performances by Bryan Wood and Sofia Carman while waiting in line for the author’s signature.
Fitzgerald’s autobiography tells of how a tragic near-death accident turned triumphant and even joy-filled as the God of grace poured out his lavish love. Fitzgerald, a Southern belle, reveals her tenacious, can-do spirit in “One Foot in Heaven.”
While several years of tremendous pain, multiple surgeries, daily physical therapy and the ever-present risk of serious setbacks take a toll on all aspects of Fitzgerald’s life, her grit to go on, her passion for life and the above-and-beyond love of her “village” of friends encourage everyone she encounters.
